Take the free VIA Strengths Survey at uthrive.info. The quiz should take 10-15 minutes.

Once you get a report on your greater and lesser strengths, describe how accurate you feel the report is. Give examples that illustrate its accuracy or inaccuracy.

If many of you choose to answer this question, it may help you find others who share your strengths and others who complement them.

  1. My 5 top strengths came back as Spirituality, Gratitude, Humor, Creativity, and Hope. I thought these were fairly accurate, but I was a little surprised that Love of Learning did not make it that high. One of my lesser strengths was Leadership, which I can understand, because most of the time I am more comfortable as a group member rather than the leader, but I will lead if I am expected to.

  2. My top 5 strengths were Spirituality, Fairness, Honesty, Love, and Humility. I feel that these strengths are pretty spot on. The majority of my hobbies and what I find joy from are derived from these qualities. I was surprised to find that Curiosity was one of my lesser strengths, as I feel that I am constantly asking questions and seeking to understand new things.

  3. My top signature strength is humor which is followed by hope, judgment, perspective and curiosity. I think that these strengths are very true to who I am. The strength humor is especially true because I don't think there is a day that goes by where I don't laugh to the point that I’m crying and I often try to make jokes in spite of difficult or inconvenient situations. For humor, I love envisioning my future (especially my career) and it makes me truly excited to make that a reality. Also, I think that judgment and perspective are spot on because whenever making any decision or analyzing any situation I truly do look at all sides (this can make it very hard for me to make decisions). Lastly I wasn't really expecting curiosity to be one of my signature strengths, but now I can see how it is because I am always asking questions about topics I don't know a lot about and I am always curious about what all there is to learn about a given topic.

    1. I love that we have judgement and perspective strengths in common. Both traits are so important when it comes to making decisions and looking for the truth!

My top strength on the test was kindness, followed by judgement, prudence, love of learning and fairness. While reading through these results, I tried to see if I personally found them accurate, and, not to boast, but I believe that to be the case. I have always prided myself on giving kindness as often as I can, and while I can get upset with someone, that is never what I do when I first meet someone. My judgement and prudence actually go hand and hand. I am a bit overly cautious, but because of this, I never do anything that I find risky or dangerous in any way possible. That is what I see as a flaw, but at that same time, I can see how it has benefited me as a person, so I accept it with open arms. I do find that I have a love of learning, but that love must be triggered by something. For example, I currently have no interest in learning how an internal combustion engine works, but maybe someday someone will awaken that want to learn. The last strength is the one I find the least true, being fairness. As human beings, I believe that we all harbor grudges, even if we don't want to admit it, and I do indeed harbor many grudges. At that same time, I can see the value in others, as people, colleagues, friends, family, etc. I try to treat everyone I meet fairly, even if that comes back to bite me and creates a grudge later on.

My top five strengths are spirituality, judgment, honesty, kindness and love. I believe these strengths are accurate. My faith is a major part of my life and what I believe, and I think things through from different perspectives before I jump to conclusions. The love strength is true since I value my relationship with my family and friends more than anything else and they help me to have a stronger faith and foundation. I was a little shocked that social intelligence was not in my top five.

  6. My top 5 strengths were Humor, Forgiveness, Social Intelligence, Judgement, and Curiosity. Well, I do think I'm funny, which also lines up with one my weakest strengths, Humility. But I have made frequent comments throughout my EQ classes all with the intention of lightening the mood. I found the test decently accurate. I think my abilities to be aware of my surroundings socially and how to adapt to them are decent. I'm the type of guy who definitely does not hold grudges and I ask a ton of questions, I also think I examine things extremely fairly and try to view them from all sides, even if they may be controversial.

  7. My strengths were Honesty, Curiosity, Fairness, Kindness, and Humor. I like to think they are fairly accurate. I always try to be honest and treat everyone equally and with kindness, and I do my best to keep good humor going, especially in times when things are difficult.

  8. My top five strengths were spirituality, love, humor, fairness, and leadership. I was not surprised by these because I think they are qualities that I value and naturally apply to my life. I was also not surprised by my lesser strengths, although I was partially disappointed. I tried to be as honest as possible on the quiz and so even though I value some qualities, like perseverance and prudence, they ended up on the bottom half of my strengths because I struggle with the application. Good thing there is always more room for growth!

  9. My top 5 strengths are prudence, teamwork, kindness, fairness, and humility. I didn’t really know what prudence meant until I read the description, but it means I’m careful or cautious about my choices. This describes me well; I usually put a lot of thought into my decisions, like how I’m still not 100% on what I want my major to be. For teamwork, I would say this definitely has shown up when I have done sports throughout the years; pushing myself for my team is often my motivation (relays are my favorite). My lowest strengths are bravery and leadership, and I do feel like I struggle with these often, especially the social aspect of leadership. Although I try to lead by example, that can also be hard sometimes if everyone else is doing something and I’m afraid to go against the group.

  10. My top strength was judgement, then followed by honesty, perspective, leadership, and forgiveness. I think these traits perfectly describe the traits I display in everyday life. During conflict, I tend to be the person in the middle, trying to hear both sides before speaking. So, I wasn't surprised when I saw judgement as my top strength. I was happy when I saw the honesty result, not because it said I always told the truth, which is something I strive to always do, but because it said I was a genuine person. One of the things I strive to do every day is to always be myself no matter what. I was also not surprised by perspective, leadership, and forgiveness. I love to provide advice to others when they need it, I love taking on leadership roles, and I rarely hold grudges against people. One result that shocked me at first was that love was one of my bottom strengths, but then the more I thought about it, the more it made sense. It's not that I don't value relationships with others, it's that I tend to have a hard time opening up to others in times of trouble, instead facing hard times by myself and not letting people as close as I should.

  11. My top five strengths were spirituality, perspective, social intelligence, prudence, and honesty. I think these traits accurately describe me. My religion is extremely important to me, and I lean on it during hard times and when making decisions, so it makes sense that it would come first. When it comes to making decisions, I also consider all my options and think very hard before acting so I was not surprised to see that perspective and prudence were in the top five too. I was very happy to see social intelligence come in third because I make a point to try to be a light in people’s lives, which means being there for anything they need and making them feel comfortable with me. Having honesty as my fifth trait makes perfect sense because I think it is an extremely important trait to possess. I am often honest to a fault so, I am not surprised that it is one of my strongest traits. My weakest trait was creativity and sadly this also makes sense. I often struggle with thinking outside the box and coming up with new ideas.

  12. My top 5 strengths are love, humor, spirituality, gratitude, and honesty. I believe that this report is very accurate and describes me well. I value having close relations with those around me and I always try my best to make someone feel loved or important. I have always been a very empathetic person so seeing love as my top strength is no surprise. Humor is not surprising either, considering I’ve always been a class clown. I love making people laugh and seeing smiles on others faces. I also consider myself spiritual in my walk with God. I have a strong faith and I believe everything happens for a reason. God is the first person I go to when I need help, when I’m giving thanks, or if I need someone to talk to. His presence is very comforting to me and makes me feel fearless. Despite all the good and bad things that might happen in my life, I will forever be thankful for everything I do have. Seeing gratitude as one of my strengths made me feel pretty good about myself because I’m the kind of person who worries herself sick if I forgot to say thank you for opening the door for me. I see myself as a very thankful person because I have a lot of things in my life that most people don’t have. Some people would do anything to have the simple luxuries I have, like a roof over my head and a nice warm bed to go to sleep in. I am very blessed with family, friends, and everything in between so I am very glad that this quiz saw that. My last strength was honesty, and HONESTLY, this one is pretty accurate too. Although I do tell little white lies sometimes, telling the truth is the right thing to do. One thing I’m known for is I’m blunt. I am straight to the point, no sugar coating. What you see is what you get. I have learned over the years that honesty builds trust and is the best way to go. If I see something I don’t like, I will most the time speak up about it. My top 5 lesser strengths are creativity, curiosity, zest, love of learning, and bravery. I am not surprised that these are my lesser strengths. I am a more by the book, following directions kind of person, so creativity is not my strong point. I do have curiosities about certain aspects of life as I’m sure everyone else does, but I usually do not act on that curiosity. Seeing zest as my lesser strength was a little surprising because for the most part, I see myself as a happy, go lucky kind of person. I get excited about the little things in life. I give everything 110% all the time so this was a little surprising. Since I am the cookie cutter, step by step kind of person, learning new things is hard for me. I am always up for a good challenge but other than that, I am content where I am. Bravery can go back and forth with me, like a teeter totter. I love challenges and speaking up for the unpopular opinion. I always root for the underdog, and I don’t shrink from difficulty. Now if I had to go skydiving and bungee jumping, count me out!! This quiz was overall very accurate, and I am pleased with the results I was given.

  13. I feel like the report was somewhat accurate. My greatest strength came out to be spirituality. I think that is right. My walk as a Christian is what is most important to me out of all that I do. If I get to be known as one thing, I want it to be a Christian. I do think it is off a little though, it says one of my weakest strengths is humility. I don't think that is quite right, I try to be as humble as possible at all points. But maybe I'm just not paying enough attention to myself personally. Overall it was very interesting to see my strengths and weaknesses.

    1. I think it's amazing to see that even in an online test, your faith and spirituality shines through. That's something that I hope you hold onto.

  14. My top five strengths were perspective, honesty, judgment, self-regulation, and love. Perspective was my top, and that does not surprise me. I always think everything through before doing something, and I am often able to help do that for others as well and provide advice. My second was honesty, and that is a huge thing for me. I have always been told I am a very honest person, and anyone can come to me for an honest opinion. My third was judgment which is also right which also makes complete sense. My fourth was self-regulation, which made me proud because that is something I have been working on the past few years. I am so much better at knowing how to understand myself and help myself. My last was love. I can be a very loving person, especially when I know it is what someone needs.

  15. My top five strengths included kindness, forgiveness, appreciation of beauty & excellence, social intelligence, and love. My lesser strengths were self-regulation, bravery, spirituality, leadership, and creativity. My top five strengths do not surprise me as much as my lesser ones. I am always very forgiving (or at least try to be), and love finding beautiful things to be apart of. Additionally, I am usually able to read people or read a room and know how to be more appealing in certain situations. Considering my lesser strength results however, I do not believe I received an accurate reading as much as I would have expected. Typically, I am a pretty good leader. I am more likely to let someone else step up for a leadership position for me, which makes it seem like I would not want it in the first place, but I can thrive in a leadership position. I love to be there for others and allow people to work with me rather than under me and create an environment every one has a voice. I do believe the self-regulation aspect, because I am pretty bad at controlling my emotions and things similar to that.

  16. After taking the quiz, it showed that my top 5 strengths were Hope, Perspective, Spirituality, Social Intelligence and Appreciation of Beauty & Excellence. I tried really hard to be honest on this quiz, but sometimes it is hard to self-reflect. I definitely agree with the first one- I truly believe that you can work towards your goal and that the life you are supposed to live will happen. This goes hand-in-hand with spirituality. If you believe that God has a plan for you, you will not worry about your future and will have hope for the future. Perspective and Social Intelligence also goes with these as well. If you are not worried about the events of your life, you can give comforting insight to those who need it. I think this is why people seem to always come to me for advice and I truly believe that I am good at giving advice since I can see many different sides to situations. Sometimes, this is a weakness though because a ‘gray’ way of thinking makes it hard to decide on things versus a ‘black or white’ way of thinking. My highest middle strength included leadership, which I am working on to be higher. I try to state my opinions but my way of thinking makes it hard sometimes. I am sometimes afraid of what others will think of me because of my opinion, and I think that that is why bravery is one of my lesser strengths.

  17. According to this test some of my signature strengths are curiosity, love of learning, and social intelligence; and some of my lesser strengths are bravery, self-regulation, and teamwork. Although it is embarrassing for me to admit this, I do find the test to be rather accurate. I never like to admit I am not the best at teamwork or the bravest person, but I think my lesser skills in these areas lead back to my anxiety and general lack of self-esteem. I tend not to have very much faith in myself, and it is something that I am constantly working at.

  18. My top five strengths are: kindness, spirituality, love, social intelligence, and leadership. I was in no way surprised by any of these qualities because I feel I have worked for so long to excel in these areas. However, I was slightly disappointed in my lower ranking qualities which included, humor, creativity, love of learning, judgment, and perspective. I honestly thought I was a decently funny person so I was kind of disappointed when the test didn’t think the same thing. I guess I’ll get over it and keep thinking I’m funny regardless of the results. The same goes for all the rest of my low ranking qualities because I feel as though I am pretty strong in those aspects of my personality as well, but I guess I need to work on those things throughout the year!

  19. My top five strengths are humility, humor, honesty, love, and love of learning. I agree with these and understand why they were placed where they are at. At first I though the order might be slightly off. While taking the test I didn't expect to see humor in the top five, let alone #2. But after some thought I realize just how big a role humor plays in my life. I use it to keep moods up, break the silence, or just to keep people entertained. I have no plans to become a comedian, but humor is still very important in my life.

  20. According to the VIA Strengths Survey, my top five strengths are Love, Spirituality, Creativity, Fairness, and Hope. It's always my main purpose to keep on holding love within me for all the people and my environment. naturally, I am very compassionate and I cannot control my emotions when I get to see people requesting a money or some food on the roads and little children wearing old, dirty and tear clothes (especially on vlogs showing rural areas of different corners of world). Spirituality is the basic life goal for me, it just calms the mind and body. I want to avoid materialistic attachments (like being lost on temporary unnecessary stuffs), and enjoy the simple things in life. That's why I try to do meditation in the mornings.
