This honestly made me laugh out loud! I can relate to this because I often think of myself as the "Dog" character. I believe people often take the traits and actions of animals and sometimes apply them to people in their life, as shown in this video rather brilliantly. It could be interesting to see within group of friends, as displayed in the video, how many "cat" and "dog" friendships are successful and if there is a way for them to have a lasting friendship.
I have never seen a video like this before. What made me laugh was the fact that the friends' actions were so true. They demonstrated how dogs and cats behave perfectly. I agree with Rachel that it would be interesting to see how the friendships we have relate to the cat or dog persona. After watching this, I also started to wonder how people's personalities affect their being a dog or cat lover. My uncle, Cyrus, loves cats and isn't much of a dog fan. I saw similarities between him and this cat character in the video; he is his own person, says what he thinks, and stays to himself; but he is in fact a nice guy to be around, unlike the character. It would be fun to analyze people's personalities and based only on the observation of who they are as a person, see if they love dogs or cats more. Chelsi Norris
I really hate cats and the video demonstrates my reasoning perfectly. Call me crazy, but I believe each cat has a tiny piece of the devil within. I would say that Rachel is in fact like the dog and Chelsi is probably like the cat. I do not think Chelsi is the devil though! Morgan Hicks
I thought this video was hilarious! I think the traits shown are a perfect match to how the animals behave. I agree with Chelsi on the note about peoples' behaviors affect there choice of cat or dog but I feel that people choose opposites to themselves. I know people who would talk ears off and run in circles, if that was socially acceptable, all day but say they want cats in a way to relax and mellow out. Clayton Worsham
I think this video demonstrates all too well the natural behavior of both dogs and cats as household pets. The characters play their parts to perfection and I'm almost certain the gist of the video would be easy to understand even without the name and labels given. As accurate as it was in a sense of portraying the stereotypical behavior of household dogs and cats, it also opened my eyes to the easy relationship shared with human behavior.
I also agree with Chelsi. In observing my friends and family, pet preference typically matches their personality. This thread reminds me of a later chapter, chapter eight I believe, because if an owner identifies with their pets behavior then they unconsciously form and "in-group" with them. That being said, it is completely understandable that most people are passionate about their pet preferences and beliefs since they ultimately reflect their beliefs about themselves and how they value their own personal characteristics.
I agree with Abigail. We tend to identify with the animal that exhibits the same behaviors as our in group. Those whom are more extroverted, for example, will enjoy the company of dogs and those who tend to remain introverted will do the same with cats. This video also brought to life the humanity that animals possess, which I thought was interesting. For some of us, it takes seeing their actions portrayed through humans to really grasp how true those actions are to their characters. Aside from just being hilarious, I loved the video!
